It may be a PITA and you shouldn't have to, but try installing them one at a time. It may work.

Thanks for that, Kerry. I didn't notice that for I have that feature turned off.

Hopefully pulling that buggy update will cure other update installs and BSODs some are having problems with.

I didn't have any issues with it myself, but others did. I just uninstalled it on my desktop as a precaution and all still appears fine. I made a restore point first.

I just uninstalled this update while tracing another issue and now find a whole new batch of updates offered. These were offered immediately following the KB2975719 uninstall. I'm going to revert back to Tuesday and see what is offered I think.

You're not alone, look at the Windows 8 bullcrap that I have to deal with "again". I guess Windows 8.1 Update errors weren't enough for me:

Why was this bulletin revised on August 15, 2014?

Luck is for rabbits.....smart people do regular backups.

I shouldn't need to make a full system backup every time Microsoft releases an update to Windows.

Also, for the folks who have updates set to install automatically (which I believe is still the default) , they may wake up one morning to find that an update has broken their system, without the opportunity to make a backup first.

Smart thing is to make backups regularly anyway, don't have to wait for updates to do it. I never had a failed update but still have Updates set to "Notify only". In the past, with Win7 and specially with XP had auto updates set to manual only, there were many more problems with those OSs. XP used to get unregistered many times because of some update yet when those were included in service packs, everything was OK.

I got some of those with this last patch Tuesday, and at least one the patch Tuesday before that. I'll likely find them all if I hunt though my list of installed updates. I just ran Windows update again this morning and no new updates. I uninstalled the optional update last night and ran Windows update again. It was listed again under optional last night but its gone now.

Not so bad as it looks. Only 2 failed updates(?).I have several on my computers.

I have a score of them on a couple of computers. .
I am just about to do a fresh install and work through the updates again. Something definitely awry here!

Looks like MS did it AGAIN........" issues appear to be caused by kernel update KB2982791 and the optional update KB2975719" I got an email from MS this morning of a Re-release from Microsoft.

I just uninstalled KB2975719 from my laptop, I wasn't having any issues but decided to uninstall it anyway. I ran windows update again and it says all up to date. Looks like they pulled KB2975719.

Now it showed here KB2964736 which was installed fine, after that it doesn't find any update.

Yeah but he/she tried lots of times without success, the same as I was getting with this August update!

It would be really nice of them if they would tell us under which preconditions that update would fail or cause troubles.
Also run in the problem of not being able to cleanup update files the usual way, there's nothing for that in cleanmanager.

Found that out - I had it "hidden"and it's no longer there.

I still have mine. All mine succeeded. I must be one lucky dude!
