I have the same problem now. Did not have any problems like this last month. Now I do? Had some updates that were continuously
failing before. How do you use the Registry File you offered here?

Hello Keith, and welcome to Eight Forums.

You would just need to download the .reg file to say your desktop, double click on the .reg file to merge it, then click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge. When finished, restart the computer to apply.

    Greetings Brink,

First of all, thanks - the reg file fixed my ability to change the settings, however the button on the left to manually check for updates still gives me the finger. Is it possible you can provide a reg file for this as well? Many thanks.

this window works fine due to your reg file

Hello xog, and welcome to Eight Forums.

If you like, you should be able to also do a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened to undo it.
