If you upgrade to windows 8 from your pc you can un EVERYTHING you've runned before. Its just that atomtablets lack speed and power in some conditions. But are good for light gaming and battery and etc.

My final choice is Samsung Ativ smart pc 500t for $599. 11.6 inch display.

Well thats the one im going to get. Do you have any? @coke robot

I personally do not. This is because I'm not in the market for a second PC as I'm going to be plunking down about 1,700 dollars worth of new compulator parts for my desktop PC rebuild, along with buying a Dell XPS 600 and modding it with an older case so I have a larger, very sleek, very modern, and very Windows 8 styled tower. That, along with possibly a 27 inch IPS touchscreen monitor if they're not absurdly expensive. Next year however, most likely in the fall, I'll be in the market for a tablet PC. Maybe a Surface Pro (or Pro 2 if that's out) or a nice ASUS tablet, or maybe a Nokia Pro tablet if they release one.

But I have played around with literally EVERY tablet PC I can get my hands, and I mean I get into it! They're probably one of the best pieces of technology I've come across by far. Although I'd suggest to you if you'll be working on the Desktop mostly on your tablet, and don't have a stylus, to change the DPI setting from 100% to 125%. That'll make the Desktop UI elements a tad larger and therefore, better to touch with a finger.

you'll like the Samsung. the biggest negative I had against it (and it's a silly one) is it has those stupid little rubber/plastic cheap door covers for the ports. it looks really tacky when you have things plugged into the ports.

it's a nitpick. most of the time, you'll have all of them closed. but a nitpick nonetheless.

Samsung's thing that plagued almost every device they make.
But the more expensive the device, the more better they make. My Galaxy Y which is super cheap has a very awful port cover.

I have those rubber doors on my cameras - both the still picture and the video camera. They are awful. I fight with them every time I want to get to the port. And those cameras are not Samsung.

I have no problems with them I've already played with the tablet at best buy I just like bigger things and i like the nice smooth design so i guess that's why they put those things on the tablet so nothing can get stuck or dust and etc. in the port so when you rub your finger over it it will be smooth.
