Surface trampled at the bottom of the tablet pile

Microsoft Surface trampled at the bottom of the tablet pile this Christmas

While it does have drawbacks just like anything else, Microsoft’s (MSFT) Surface is a great slate for those looking for a fresh new take on the modern tablet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like very many people were looking for a fresh new take on the modern tablet this holiday season.

You do know the Surface Pro has an i5 processor in it, right?

Well all the i5 are not born the same. it's a mobile i5 of 1.7 ghz nothing to compare to a i5-3770k of 3.4 ghz, this of course is not something Microsoft include in the spec; witch i5 it is.

You're comparing a tablet PC with an i5 versus a desktop PC with an i7? Really?

I get the bench I can find, look at the link I give, it's behind a lot of dual core

What is important is the peoples know that it will not perform like a desktop i5, Microsoft specify nothing, that may lead peoples to think they gone have more than expected.

That's fairly obvious.

Most people aren't concerned with those details. As long as it's fast and efficient, that's great.

I realise your English is not the greatest Molebo, so maybe you don't realise that you're on a forum called eightforums. .

Well I purchase 2 x Windows 8 + a Surface. From your Avatar, you don't even purchase a Windows 8. So let's say I'm not a perfectly happy customers, but I'm one, when expire yourCP

Well I do have two Windows 8 licences and will be buying a third, seeing as how Windows 8 is faster at just about everything, I don't see any reason not too. I certainly don't miss the start menu or close button, I hardly ever used them anyway. The start menu should have gone years ago, absolutely useless to people with a lot of programmes.

here the info. something I want to add, it's not a 4 cores , it's a dual core with 4 tread ( like a i3) , This is another thing that can mislead someone. Intel should not class those CPU as i5, but in the other hand it help the Microsoft marketing.

Where did you get the Surface CPU specs to say that it's the i5-3317U Processor? I don't think this is 3rd gen.

I have some source at Intel.

anything to argue..... you don't know that much CPU ? . Second generation Sandy Bridge was 32 nm and this CPU was release last December and it's a 22 nm ( Ivy )

For coffee, the best coffee is one that is freshly brewed from freshly ground beans with a Keurig coffee maker.

Coffee is absolutely horrid, no matter where from, how brewed, etc.

We have conflicting tastes.

I also prefer green tea with honey, maybe some squeezed lemon juice if I don't feel too lazy.

An i5 processor regardless of being mobile or desktop implies good computing performance. It depends on the specific series, but in general they're rather decent.

but you don't answer my question, do you actually try it ? you seem to be sure it will perform well, how you can be if you have not try it. Faith ?. You don't have idea of what CPU it was before I tell you. this i5 perform the same as some 5 years old CPU dual core.
