Surface Pro 3 September 15th 2015 updates

The following updates will be listed as “System Firmware Update – 9/15/2015” or “System Hardware Update – 9/15/2015” when you view your update history.

When Surface updates are provided via the Windows Update service, they are delivered in stages to Surface customers. As a result, not every Surface will receive the update at the same time, but the update will be delivered to all devices. If you have not received the update then please manually check Windows Update later.

• USB 3.0 Card Reader driver update (v10.0.10240.31217) improves the system power usage when an SD card is inserted.

Hey Mate,

I have downloaded the latest firmware update for the Surface Pro 2 and deployed it to a test machine via SCCM. Which was successfully installed as I checked the driver versions in Device Manager.

If I go to windows update, however, it is still displaying the following - "System Hardware Update - 5/19/2015 4.0MB" Previously I could see this as well as "System Firmware Update - 5/19/2015" but the firmware update has disappeared since I deployed the firmware update from SCCM.

The question I want to ask is what is contained in the "System Hardware Update - 5/19/2015" I cannot find any mention of it anywhere?

• Surface Pro 3 UEFI update (v3.11.850.0) includes changes needed for compatibility with the updated graphics driver.
• HD Graphics Family driver update (v10.18.14.4170) improves graphics performance and includes better Miracast (wireless display) support.
• Display Audio driver update (v6.16.00.3172) improves audio experience and supports compatibility with the updated graphics driver.

Thanks Brink, it's good to finally be a part of the forum.

I have installed the firmware and checked the UEFI, HD Graphics, and Display Audio Driver and they are all updated to the versions you list above but I still have the below appearing on the machine.

You wouldn't happen to know what is contained in the update in my screenshot? I would really like to deploy it through SCCM as we have quite a few of these machines . Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The "System Hardware Update" would be hardware drivers for the Surface. I don't have anything more specific than that though.

No worries Brink .

I think I will run Driverview and dump a list of the driver versions, install the updates then repeat and see what's changed.

I'll post back here once I find out what it is.
