Might I ask which brand computer you have and whether it's a laptop or desktop?

Maybe Desktops and Laptops are different. After all, your original and current number is only one digit. BTW, mine is a laptop also and my solution has helped lots of folks but all (including me) had Toshiba laptops.

Hmmmm, I wonder if it would be a different number for HP computers . . . nah, Since it helped Diane . . . phooey, thought I'd thunk of something, but not.

But it could be different between laptops and desktops?

I have a Dell Laptop with windows 8.1. It's working fine now. I just started up and the numlock is working.

Diane, your Profile under System Specs still shows your computer as a HP.

Sorry about that, I went in and corrected my system specs. When I joined I had a HP laptop, since then I bought a Dell. I had the same problem with both laptops.
