Solved Multiple BSOD playing Call of Duty: BO3

You have a 700 watt PSU that is more than enough power for you system.

Bu i saw another important thing on your picture you have your memory modules in the wrong slots according to your Manual.
With 2 memorymodules you have to use the 2 blue sockets. See your manual http://downloadmirror.intel.com/18132/eng/dp55wg_productguide03_english.pdf.
PLease put them in the blue sockets, this is very important for the stability of your system.

I'll switch them into the blue slots. Also should I uninstall any soundblaster drivers since he sound card was a soundblaster?

I thought I had remembered seeing a bunch of soundblaster drivers in device manager but I don't anymore. They might have been the creative ones? I assume I don't need to uninstall any of the remaining audio drivers? See picture.

No they don't seem to be from Creative, but you made a picture of the Creative drivers in device manager in post 23 compare them.
To see if these are Realtek or Windows basic driver are Right Click> open properties>look for more info.

Just experienced another BSOD while playing a game. Memory management. I did switch the memory sticks to both blue slots before this occured.

What is the model and specifications of your memory modules
I could only find this in my analyse
4gb
Manufacturer 0x04CD
Part Number 0x46332D3132383030434C392D344742524C00

But your motherboard seems to have some restriction.
Is your memory module SD(single-sided) or DB(double-sided)
It seems that 4gb SD are not supported at all and only 4 gb DS with x 8 organisation are supported.

It could be that your memory is not compatible

As a test run your pc with only 1 memory module in the blue slot of channel A and see if the system runs stable.

If not than return the memorymodule and run Memtest again.
To test if the memory is not faulty but that it could be a compatibilty issue.

Also the networkadapter still may be the culprit because you said you were downloading, did you also played Black Ops online.

No it's not. Having the memory in the same colour sockets simply uses dual channel, which is more efficient for the memory controller. It doesn't not alter system stability at all.

I was not downloading a game and playing a game at the same time if that's what you're asking. I was only downloading a game and web browsing.

In regards to the memtest. I ran memtest86 for 18 passes and recieved no errors. Should I even bother running it again with single modules?

Here is a pic of one of my modules.

I'm not sure if this is important but I noticed that when black ops closes on me, a command prompt window will appear for a second and then go away. Not sure if this is at all relevant, just thought I'd mention it.

I should also note that I just attempted to play planetside2 and experienced both the game closing/crashing on me and a BSOD.

Also I downloaded a temperature program and the CPU read -128C. I was just talking to the person that built this computer and they seem to recall the heatsink(sync?) breaking for the CPU. Not sure if that's relevant.

And in your Intel specification of your motherboard the memory modules need to run with 1,35 volts( see one of my post earlier).

Could you install Speccy and run it to analyse your system, to get more info about your memory(spd)
It also measures your temp of the CPU and GPU etc.
The temperature in your Speedfan is showing - 128 C, don't know if this is correct.

Okay, I just want to make sure that I understand you correctly. The memory modules I have are not compatible with my motherboard because they are supposed to run at 1.5V, but my motherboard only supports ram that runs at 1.35V. Because they are not getting the amount of power they need, they are only running at 1333MHz.

Is it possible that this incompatibility has been causing all these problems, or is this more likely to be another problem in addition to a potentially faulty CPU/GPU?

Yes, not compatible memory can cause any kinds of problems, because you have a unstably system. As far as i know it is not only the difference in voltages but also that it is not supporting the chipset. Also this newer modules may have a different technical specifications that your older chipset does not support(max. 8 chips with 256mx8 on 1 side) etc.
I advice you to contact G-skill custumor support ask them about your specific case.

At this moment we can not at forehand exclude another hardware related problem.
But with a (possible) unstable system (motherboard/memory) it is dificult to troubleshoot.

It's very rare that a motherboard cannot support 1.5V DIMM modules.
Usually some motherboards start to struggle after 1.65V.

As i said
As far as i know it is not only the difference in voltages but also that it is not supporting the chipset. Also this newer modules may have a different technical specifications that your older chipset does not support(max. 8 chips with 256mx8 on 1 side) etc.
I advice you to contact G-skill custumor support ask them about your specific case.

Did you get any insight from GSkill that that your motherboard (p55 chipset) is supported by this modules(on their website it is not listed under QVE) and that the specs of the memory modules are compatible.

But it could be that this memory is compatible and that other (hardware) aspects are the culprit of the BSODs, but some of the BSOD are referring to memory management errors.

I suggest to test/diagnose your Hardware.

Please start with diagnosing the system RAM first.
You can use the free tool "Memtest86+"to stress test the RAM.
How to run "Memtest" -
RAM -Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Help Forums
Make sure you are using the latest version 5.01 - Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory DiagnosticTool
You can stop the test even if a single error is found during the test.Otherwise continue the test for 7-10 passes and post a screenshot with next reply. 7 passes is the recommended bare minimum but more passes will give better result.

Run "Prime95"stability test.
Hardware- Stress Test With Prime95 - Windows 7 Help Forums
Choose"SmallFFT" test and also select "Round off Checking"from "Advanced" menu (read reply #1). Run the test for 3-4hours and upload the "Result.txt" file it creates.

If both tests show/give no errors.
And your system keeps BSOD-ing.

You can enable"Driver Verifier" according to instructions from the belowlink.

DriverVerifier - BSOD related - Sysnative Forums
"Verifier" is a Microsoft's own tool to stress test third party drivers and find the buggy one. If it detects a violation, a blue screen will be created immediately and the dump will give us the name of offending driver straight forward. After enabling "Verifier" , system will be a bit slow and laggy dur to the background verification process. After you got two or more blue screens, please upload the new crash dumps and we will know whether the issue is caused by third party drivers or low level hardware (a verifierenabled dump which blames Windows system files is a clear confirmation of hardware problem).
"Verfier" should be only used to monitort hird party drivers. Selecting Microsoft system drivers is totally unnecessaryand doing so may make the system non bootable. First read instructions from the below link and set "Windows" to write "Small Memory dumps".
SetMiniDump
Then enable "verfier" and select all.

If you check the specification properly, it states "support for low voltage memory at 1.35V".
It doesn't state anywhere that is the voltage, many sites state that it will be compatible to run 1.5V DIMM.

What you need to understand is that DDR3 has 1.5V on the DIMMs as a standard, therefore it will always be compatible with motherboards.
However, some motherboards support 1.35V (low voltage modules) and some support higher 1.65V (high voltage modules).

It isn't a memory issue, it has been tested. It isn't a driver issue, it is a hardware issue. It is a CPU error, I will eat my hat if it isn't.
It is a consistent internal CPU timer error...
If the CPU is under warranty, RMA it, they will test it, and most likely replace it. Stop faffing around, just replace the CPU...

As for your question:

Also I downloaded a temperature program and the CPU read -128C. I was just talking to the person that built this computer and they seem to recall the heatsink(sync?) breaking for the CPU. Not sure if that's relevant.

SpeedFan is very buggy, I wouldn't take the temperatures with a pinch of salt...

I'm a bit tight on cash at the moment. So that's why I'm still testing other stuff hoping that it's the ram or graphics card. But I think I agree with you that it's the CPU. I just hope that it isn't cause I can't afford one at the moment. Unfortunately the CPU is past its 3 year warranty.
