Latest Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 8

OK D/Led the "new" 2nd gen driver, ran the exe to install, got this popup. Now why would it say this IF these are "newer" ??View attachment 57584

Maybe they messed up the date/timestamp on the files and left them as 2014 instead of 2015?

Well this was weird as hell with this driver, OK so I decided to go to Device Manager and just run the update from there, OK, it went through an update, well weird thing was it actually downdated my 3517 lolol, to the last one before that, but didn't complain about newer drivers, so OK I said hell with it, and ran the new driver exe, said yes over write the drivers and re booted, it went through some windows assessment tool thing to check graphics, and than booted OK, checked DM and there was the new driver, installed. So who knows....

I'm really confused about the drivers update policy at their site. I saw the new version posted on the site of a computer magazin i regulary visit, with official release notes by Intel, pointing to their download servers. But obviously that version is not released there, yet. I just went to the Intel download page through a built an app on my Windows 8.1 system and I supposedly downloaded and installed the latest drivers, but when I look in my program list it still says 10.18.14.4156. Does anybody know what is going on with this? Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that I have an Intel i5 4690, so I do not know if this is my latest driver or not.

You have 4th generation (Iris) HD 4600 graphics and already have the latest drivers.

I'm being offered an Intel HD 3000 driver via Windows Update today but I have no way of knowing whether its a later version than the one that I already have (9-17-10-3517). As all is running brilliantly as it stands I'm kind of reluctant to install this anyway tbh.

Hey Mooly,

I'd create a restore point before installing it to be safe. That way if you do have issues with the updated driver, you could always do a quick system restore to undo it.
