how to solve this document may be truncated or incomeplete

I remember those , had the same issue once when a hard drive started to go bad , it's missing picture data from truncated picture files due to drive errors , the players try and show the whole image , but fail because the data is corrupt.

i need to know what cause this issue

Try viewing the photos on another computer. If they do the same. The SD Card or Camera is culprit. If they do not do the same. The computer GPU is culprit.

The first-post image seems to be incomplete. Like when it's saved but then interrupted saving without the process to be finished.

If you open it with a hex editor you can fix the headers if they are corrupted, but here there can also be that the headers are OK, since the file got opened. Instead the end of file can be missing and you have some colored lines showing that information is missing (can be seen on hex editor as well but it's not always clear what you see).

Files like the incomplete one posted can be encountered also when you use data recovery software and the file was overwritten to a point where it's no longer 100% recoverable. Corruption on the data disk can also create similar results.

You can't always recover/repair such files but its worth trying.

Searching for fixes show a lot of results like:

hi i'm a photographer and most my photos when i'm trying to edit it in photoshop
i got this message "this document may be truncated or incomeplete"

this is photo i found in internet but it's looks like most my photos

example :
View attachment 44007

i searched google for this problem but i didn't found any solution

i have 20 gb photos like that what should i do :(

Have you tried to edit or look at your photos from something other than Photoshop? Someone suggested Gimp, which I believe is free.

Also, it looks like you only have about 3 Gigabytes of RAM. That's a little light for photo editing, but it should only slow your editing down, not give you pictures as above.

Does this happen only with graphics, or do you have a problem with other things? Look at this smilie :what:Can you see the full thing and that it's moving? I'm going to add a .png graphic to this post. Don't worry about the content; it's not related to your question, but can you see it below?

As Broe said, you may want to check your video card. I would suspect it before I would the monitor.

I right clicked on your sample picture and saved to my Pictures folder in Windows 8.1 Update. I use the built-in Photo Gallery for viewing pictures and when I clicked on the saved picture, it popped up as (I hope) it should. Copy follows:

And, here's what the link led me to. Hope this helps some others to help you, as I'm out of ideas after having read the rest of the thread.

i have moved a lot of photos to the hard drive and it was good and i send alot of photos to my friends and when i compare the two same photos i found this

at the end of the photo i have
Untitled 3.jpg

the one i sent it to my friend over a year

Untitled 4.jpg
and it is the same photo so how i can prevent this happen again to all my photos

i opened the two photos in hxd

at the end of codes of the photo i have in my pc ( the one have purple line at the end )

Untitled 6.jpg

and the good one have this codes at the end
Untitled 8.jpg

You have a bad SD card period. You never stated how long you have been using this SD card in the camera. The only thing you can do is go out and get a new SD card.

DF DF DF is 'filler' code showing the file is padded out to the correct size but no actual picture data is saved...hence the corruption, picture is definitely bad , storage medium is faulty or on the way out.

Broe, I'm not sure it's the SD card if what the OP said earlier:

i think that the problem isn't from SD card because pictures that i have downloaded from internet has corrupt too and i remember when SD card connected with my PC my pictures weren't corrupt

There is definitely something going on within the computer, although I don't know what it is yet. However, if pictures downloaded from the Internet are truncated in the same way, well . . . something's not right.

Going on a scavenger hunt . . .

TheBit:

If I can figure out how to give you access to a Public part of my OneDrive, will you send me three or four of your most recent pictures? I suspect they may come across as perfect, but I won't know that until you send me a few.

I promise not to use them. :)

I Agree

OK, anyone want to make the research shorter by telling me how to make the public part of OneDrive available to TheBit?

I'll be looking and thanks in advance if you can tell me how.

I've left you a private message in reply to your friend message. We'll do this "offline" from the forum, but if and when we find an answer to the problem, then you can come back and give it to the others who've attempted to help.

Update: Latest development is that TheBit sent me three zipped pictures. I saved them to This PC>Pictures and opened them in Photo Gallery which comes with Windows. All three pictures are perfect, so now I'm at a loss as to what could be the problem.

TheBit, there are basically 1000 K in a Megabyte and 1000 Megabytes in a Gigabyte. Using this rough calculation, I'm of the opinion that you have only about 3 Gigs of usable RAM; most likely that means 1 Gig is being used by something else because RAM usually comes in 2s. Although 3 Gigs of RAM used to be OK in earlier versions of Windows, this is Windows 8.1 and I just don't know if that could be the problem, although I don't think it is.

I know the question has been asked, but how are you getting the photos from the SD card to your PC? Further, have you deleted the photos from the card yet? Are you using a USB cable to hook the camera to the PC in order to get the photos onto your PC? These are questions that need to be answered so that the guys and/or gals who know much more than I do may get a clue as to what's happening.

Did the photo I attached to an email back to you come across as good, or is it still in the sad shape as the first one you posted? I think that will give us a real clue as to what may be wrong.

For now, I'm not sure it's actually something wrong with the SD card, since you have said that even photos downloaded from the Web are as bad as the sample you showed us.

Oh, and BTW, how old is the laptop? Is it possibly still in warranty?

first i have pc and a new laptop and samsung s3 still see purple line at the end of the photo to the right open any one of the three pictures i have sent to you and zoom in to the right in the end of the photo u will see something like this
issue.jpg

and i have two cameras and two sd cards and even photos by mobile and they was fine

but they got corrupted inside my hard drive

it's not 100 % corrupted but 2% corrupted just at the end of the photo

Ah, now I see the artifact in the photos you sent me. They were so small they weren't obvious. Especially not like the first sample you showed us.

Since you're using two cameras with two separate SD cards, it would seem that you've ruled out a problem with those.

The following questions need to be answered so that the guys and gals here can help you:

1. Have you removed the photos from both SD Cards?

2. Did you transfer the photos to your PC using a USB cable?

3. Did you transfer the photos to your PC by plugging your SD card into an SD port?

4. Which PC did you transfer the photos to? (That is the one that needs troubleshooting.)

5. Have you updated the drivers to your video card by going to AMD and downloading the latest ones?

6. Here's a Microsoft troubleshooting site: Troubleshoot video card problems - Microsoft Windows Help
