Hard Drive Disconnects Intermittently

I'm running W10 x64 Ver 1709 Build 16299.334.

I have, among others, a 5TB WD hard drive that is less than six months old.

The drive disconnects intermittently. That is, sometimes every other time I start the computer the drive shows up as missing.

I have run chkdsk and Western Digital Hard Drive Tools on the drive and it shows up as being healthy. It does not show up in Disk Management as, for example, a drive to which no letter has been assigned.

I replaced the SATA cable twice and put the drive on a modular power cable so that it is the only drive on that cable.

No matter what changes I make, the drive frequently shows up as not available.

Has anyone experienced something similar and solved it? Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you check power options?

The PCI set to off(has to do with Intel RST drivers)

And set turn off hard disk to 0

Thanks, I have changed the settings according to your suggestions. I also turned off Intel Rapid Storage Technology.

Let's see how the drive performs now.

Hi, it worked for a day or two, but I just logged on and the drive is not being recognized.

Other than checking that your cables are well seated(which you have already done), not really, sorry

I once killed a 500GB Samsung SSD, by pushing in the pins on the SATA connection(on the SSD), and had to open it up to reseat the flat, pin connectors. You might want to take a look there.
