I have the Iso that I downloaded as talked about here on this forum where you download Win 8 and stop and then download the Win 8.1 Iso. I hope this is clear enough. Thanks.

Does anyone know if I could install Win 8.1 (none pro) by using a Win 8.1 Pro ISO ? I read somewhere that the product key would determine which version would be installed. I need to install the none pro version but do not have that Iso. Thanks for any help.

theog, Your mod worked great. It gives you a choice of versions. I did not see that folder in my 8.1 flash drive. Is there something like that for the Win 8 or 8.1 systems? THANKS for all the help.

wtf, I just have music,photo,video,etc. folders on my d drive which I use. I just don't use the "My' folders on the C drive. Good luck.

I also have my Data on a different drive and I had no problems with the update. You must have moved the "My" folders (such as My Music) from the C drive to another drive. Maybe if you added some empty "My" folders back on the C drive , it may work. Just my guess. Good luck.

I made the dvd from the iso gotten from the start of this thread. I tried to do a clean install on a blank reformatted hdd and all went well untill I got to the place where I chose "custom install" and then it said it could not find a proper partition and would go no farther. Thanks Hoody, I hope you are right but what I want to do is download maybe one third on one night and then turn off the computer.Then download some more the next night and so on. I believe this can be done with the regular update, but I'm not so sure about the iso file. Thanks all.
