Aero Glass for Windows 8 - BETA 1

Nice project but the lack of Aero in Windows 8 would be the last of my complaints about the new UI.

Thank you.

And what is the topic?

Thank you.

Not in version 0.7, it's just a procedure hook. :)

That's right. :) I see they removed the injector.
I've posted the new screenshots in previous post.

Thanks.

That wasn't mentioned anywhere in the OP and the title says Aero Glass for Windows 8 - BETA 1 so I was posting some screenshots and tests to show how it looks like. Talking about help, I've added the registry screenshots in case you want to uninstall the tweak.

I don't understand why you target me for this since vrosa mentioned how to install and use the tweak. :)
I've figured that out myself since I've seen the registry file pointed to a non valid drive folder.

I'm looking forward to the next releases because the tweak looks promising for all those who need transparency back.

Cheers

So far v0.7 works well even in a VM.

Sorry, but had to remove this app. The reason is every hour on the hour a warning screen would appear, and say something like this; "Big Muscle Cannot Quality This Program As Stable," or something to that effect. Other then that little problem it worked just fine.

This app allows you to manipulate Windows 8 Aero Glass implementation. Very good !

Aero Glass Tweaker 1.2: View attachment 19467

View attachment 19470

Note: Setting Feature Level to DX11.1 crashes explorer.exe and gives black screen. All other settings are safe !

:)

HEY BAD COKE ROBOT!

I didn't read your little addendum there on the bottom about DX 11 and guess what I did... HAHAHAH! I was lucky, I had a restore point from last night and it worked. It also proved a theory I had about why my system restore does not work on my other system, because the system spans 2 drives on that one, but not on this one.

When I tried the automatic modes, it was giving me some serious errors and and got stuck in a DWHook debug loop that "abort" was not stopping- I WAS able to shut off the "Aero Glass" and recover, but I was stooopid and tried that DX 11 setting. It did just what you said!

So, which one of these tweeks has worked the best?

(Edit - Oops, it wasn't Coke who posted that but vrosa, my bad)

Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.
This is very nice, but at first I wasnt convinced that it was working. I didnt notice a bit more transparency/tranlucency (not sure which is the right term, but I do know the difference. I still want the 100% pure Windows 7 look that Aero Glass had in that OS. Besides applying this fix is there anything else I should do/can try? As it stands now I'm still waiting on the new WindowBlinds 8 to be released for Windows 8, hopefully it will give the 7 look while allowing for skinning, custom themes, etc. I dont mind paying if that's what it takes to get the eye candy back, my machine can handle it. Or maybe M$ will reintroduce it when Windows Blue is released.

It's possible.
Newer versions will stabilize but the earlier ones mentioned something about memory leaks. See the changelog of each version if you're interested.

Am testing the latest version, and at the present time everything is working just great. Also like the fact it is no longer pure glass, but allows burr.

Thus far (after three hours) the notice I posted about a little while back is not happening. . .knock on wood. . .
