PC settings Screen - Open in Windows 8

How to Open "PC settings" in Windows 8 and 8.1

information   Information
In Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1, there are a few different ways to find and change your settings: PC settings, Control Panel, the Settings charm, and Search. Most of the settings that you'll want to change can be found in PC settings.

The PC settings screen is another way to set the Personalize, Users, Notifications, Search, Share, General, Privacy, Devices, Wireless, Ease of Access, Sync your settings, HomeGroup, and Windows Updates settings in Windows 8.

Windows 8.1 adds to change most Windows settings, such as changing your screen resolution, adding and removing devices, personalizing the lock screen, changing the date and time, and adding user accounts.

This tutorial will show you how to open PC settings in Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.

Note   Note
If you have your hard disks set to turn off after being idle, then you will notice a short delay in opening PC settings while it waits for any turned off hard disks to spin back up.

Under Win+I

And i don't have 'PC settings" in start anymore..... I have Developer Preview.

Thx for help.

Try this:

1. Open Control Panel
2. Select Users Accounts
3. Select Make changes to my account in PC Settings.

That will probably get you where you want to be but there appears to be a problem with your installation. As such, it might be worth doing a Refresh of Windows 8

Brink, thanks for the reply.

I spent a couple minutes following the trail of linked pages of instructions, got a headache trying to follow the instructions, and decided to just use the Task Manager to kill the tasks.

P.S. It's amazing how complicated this seemingly trivial task is.....
