Windows RT: Failure?

I just think windows RT makes things more confusing. I just know it as windows that cannot run old legacy software. Other than that I have no clue what it really is and the RT doesn't help the consumer distinguish either.
Actually, on the physical box (at least for the ASUS Vivo RT tablet) on the back of the box it explicitly and simply says that it doesn't work with existing Desktop software. I might take a photo and upload tomorrow of this.

Sure MS had non admin accounts a long time ago, but they left users as admins in XP and this caused a lot of compromised systems.

You mean they defaulted users as admins. Only the first user that was created (you have to make the first user an admin, otherwise they can't create other users, or configure their machine). It would be more accurate to say that with Vista they introduced sudo-like functionality that allows administrators to run as normal users, unless specifically elevated.

Is there someone here aside of Coke, who is not thinking that MS already fail. They fail few years ago when they lost the search engine battle. Google already purchase Motorola, what will stop them to purchase Nokia ?

What is your problem ? lol

I"ve seen your posts, and you are here as the DOOM and gloom person, and that's not terribly constructive is it ?

Change can take time to adapt to, did you miss apples conversion process ?

This thread is just anti positive.

People LOVE touch screens, and if you doubt that, see phones and tablets for PROOF. OS's will be the same path.

It took me a tad bit of time to adjust TO win8 , but now I love it totally. I adapted because its awesome and I wanted to.

@Area,

Some people get upset if you don't affirm their personal choices.

It is a sign of insecurity.

As this is about RT - do they have the refresh/reset thing on those machines?

Has anybody here actually bought one?

I will try one for a day before decide if I want one. I was so piddle to purchase 3 years ago a Motorola Droid without try it first, that I will not make the same mistake . The droid is the worst phone on the market, the touch screen is crap on it, I miss all my call at the time because of it. As I own a iPhone 4s , the touch screen as to be at least as good. I wait to try the Windows 8 phone and if I'm not happy, well iPhone 5 will be. I think it's fair no.

I had an original droid and I loved it. The touch worked great on mine, and the keypad was really nice as well. I really liked how solidly it was built, with a magnesium alloy shell. One of the best phones I've ever owned.

The new Nokia Lumia 920 has a similar solid build to it, and i'm seriously thinking of buying one.

You might want to be careful about calling people liars.

Unfortunately, my Droid bit the dust after 2+ years of use. The touch screen started to freak out and act like someone was touching it everywhere at once, so it was impossible to use. I move to an HTC Thunderbolt, then I moved to a Galaxy SIII, which is my current phone.

So please, stop accusing people of being a liar. It makes you a comple douchebag.

I don't say you are a liar, why are you on defense...... I show a pic of mine because I like to support what I say

Actually I was also referring to the office 2013, when I say I can pin from the start page, and someone say say you can pin ( probably from the app directly ) again in this tread I show pic, demonstrating, that first I have one and the option is not there. Same with the 8 cores story, I show supporting documents, so peoples have real facts....not just I have this and it work fine

Since it seems nobody gets confused by Apple just compare to them.

Yes, you do call me a liar. Don't pretend you're not, because that's just intellectually dishonest. It's very clear the implication that you are making.

I have no idea what you're talking about with Office 2013. We've not spoken on that subject. You must be thinking of someone else. In fact, I just did a search, and I've only ever used the word Office in one post.
