Windows Explorer Thumbnails not getting saved

Well i never encountered this problem on Windows 7. But if you do a search on google you will see a lot of results with people having the exact same issue on W7. I don't know what to say.

It seems as if sometring that we do breaks Windows. We are not using it right. LOL

This fix worked for me!

Not sure if i should be updating this thread, cause it's so old... but i was having this exact same issue, windows 8 pro would not remember my thumbnails and would rebuild them every time i restarted..
I found a solution that worked for me.
Go to this page:-
Thumbnail Cache - Enable or Disable - Windows 7 Help Forums
Download the file that's named Enable_Thumbnail_Cache.reg
and run it (must be logged in with root privileges).
Open explorer, let it build thumbnails. Then restart the computer and open the same directory again, and it shows up instantly, explorer doesn't rebuild the thumbnails. Worked for me, hope will work for you guys :)
