I could not stand the metro and lack of start menu anymore. Have gone back to the developer preview with metro off, and the expirey date has now been extended anyway. I may install CP again if the metro can be removed later.

i upgraded win 8 cp from win 7 x64 ultimate!!
i wanted to do clean install so i tried but it stops with 3% file copying i tried with dl another time and burning then too same problem? can someone confirm can do clean install without any probs, my screen resolutoion is 1280x720 is prob because of this?

i thought file corrupted so tried with another dl file but still same result stopped after copying 3% files!!!
may be because of monitor resolution(1280x720) apart from that everything satisfy the requirement!!!:(

Hi there
ensure NO USB devices are connected (apart from a Mouse) - and sometimes the Mouse USB driver gets in the way of the Touch screen driver --- try removing even the usb mouse and starting again.

After installation its fine

Remember also if you booted from a USB or DVD -- remove these devices on Windows boot after its done the initial copy of files to HDD (after the Expanding Files stage on the install screen).

third time lucky, i succeeded in clean install of win 8 x64 CP!!!
this time i formatted HDD well before and did clean install. after a days of try i succeeded :)

Also installing ATI Catalyst will automatically enable .NET 3.5, download and install it for you during the Catalyst setup. :)
