Greetings.

I am a retired telecommunications engineer. I had no real inclination to invest in Windows 8 until my Core 2 processors were thoroughly obsolete and/or dead. Then, I stumbled across Storage Spaces. Without benefit of any hands on research, I am an instant convert. Storage Spaces is the killer app that I have needed for several years.

Also, the GUI is a sweet one.

Welcome to Eight Forums Angelo, take your time with it, kinda different but once you figure out your way around it's not bad, a lot of improvements.

Hello Everyone! I built a new pc last week and decided to take advantage of the free preview of 8 and risk using it as my main OS on this build. My alienware m17x uses windows 7 OEM, so I can't use it on multiple computers. I am really enjoying windows 8, all my programs work great; and even with the intel hd 3000 I was able to play saints row the third on a low res. (ofcourse the m17x is my gaming laptop).

Everything is very well, my only quarrel is my HDMI only works on duplicate but I'm not complaining. The Asus Xonar software had to be ran in troubleshoot compatibility for my headphone amp but all is well. So far (about a week) I like windows 8 alot and am not regretting using it as my main OS at all.
