Theog, Im not exactly familiar with what the Secure Boot control does, but I always thought the general rule was that the older OS had to go first, because if the newer OS was installed first the older OS wouldnt have the proper boot loader to boot the newer OS.

So Im just somewhat unsure how this works, and whether it is a Downgrade or a dual boot? I apologize for my nitpickiness

It doesn't matter with Windows 7 and 8. You can install either one first and the boot loader should be recognized.
You can also change the boot order using EasyBCD 2.2.

you might want to change the name of the tutorial, it said Downgrade from windows 8 to windows 7, which is kind of confusing.

and I somewhat get lost on step 4, what DVD are you referring to? the recover disk made at the start? or a win7 iso? Hate to assume.

The Windows 7 x64, that you will need to buy.

you also lose me at the "delete all partitions" step. I assume this is not a step for dual booting, because its a new laptop. and the only partition should be the windows8 partition right?

Welcome to EightForums, plane 1 & kdarigliere.

You can install Windows 7 in dual boot first or second.

Follow Step one to five in this tutorial:
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/13326-downgrade-windows-8-windows-7-a.html

Than follow this tutorial:

Delete all partitions is STEP SIX.

You can DISABLE Quick Boot in the BIOS this will slow down the boot post.
