Show us your SSD performance

I have RAPID mode enabled on my desktop but I have an APC UPS supplying backup power to my desktop and have instructed my computer to safely shutdown when it reaches 15% battery life. I should be good to go in this case.

Here are my synthetic benchmarks:

I think the screenshot says what settings my SSD uses for getting such a result... :)

On my Lenovo G505s (AMD A10-5750M APU with Radeon HD Graphics) I replaced the SATA II 5400 rpm HDD with a SATA III Crucial MX100 256GB SSD which I got for $109 this week. Boots fast and is a pleasure to use. Its not the fastest SSD but in this $400 laptop it was a bargain. Here are my bench marks.

I'm still making addition to this computer as finances allow

Phone man: don't worry about the specs being a bit slower, it's the ultra low random access speeds that make SSDs great. Those don't change much between SSDs. In everyday use, you won't be able to discern a difference between 505MB a second read and 300MB a second read speeds.

It is so much better then the Sata II 5400rpm drive that came with my Laptop. I am very pleased with the results. I only use the Laptop when traveling and it uses an AMD A10 APU. I like Crucial and Samsung because they make everything in house. The MX100 got good reviews as it preforms equally well on compressible and non-compressible data, so is a good all around product. For my main Desktop I just ordered a Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD for $169 and it will be here Friday. I am getting my Christmas gifts early.:dinesh:

Yeah they're ok. Slight differences are not going to make anything noticeable in real life. 4K read/write result is also good, which is what reflects performance in day to day normal working :)

Yeah they're ok. :)

"yeah they're ok" doesn't seem so good for my system... 840 Evo 250gig fresh and windows 8.1 i7 quad core .. I hope you mean "yes for the 840 Evo it's completely normal like everyone else's 840 Evo..?

Hey Piratex20

I have the exact same SSD as you, can you run the test with no rapid on?? here is mine. (and that is while on the internet surfing and using my computer)

I want PirateX20 to turn rapid mode off and run a test so we can compare .. we have the same 840 EVO.. i installed mine myself and didn't tweak anything so far.. I didn't even do the Provisioning? thing either.. i don't see the point of provisioning so I guess I won't do that.. but is it too difficult to turn rapid off and run a test piratex20?? (i kinda understand if you really don't want to cause you'll have to restart and etc.. though.)

oh i also turned off windows index and search services..

but it would be nice to see your results then..
