I feel just fine using Avast free edition backed up with Mbam, free too.I have always felt uneasy using Defender due to its test scores but I try to use Windows compatible programs. On occasion I wander that is why I have supplemented SWB + MBAM. If I were not behind a router I might use another program.
Anyone out there with 8.1 using another program and feel satisfied with it?
I think you can protect the machine without having to pay, or not?
Peter
When I compared free and payed versions of Avast, I found nothing that I need there and adding that would just make unnecessary load to the system. MBAM, yes I would use full version but unfortunately it is not compatible to run alongside another resident AV and is not enough to run all by itself.
