I just noticed it's not Semantic Zoom, otherwise your group titles would be showing. Semantic zoom (Windows)

It's just that your tiles look small.

I'm quite sure you know this, but for others Semantic Zoom can be performed with Ctrl/- key, Ctrl/mouse scroll down, or tap minus button in the far left corner next to the scroll bar. Groups can be moved around in this mode as seen in the 3rd screenshot.

Here's mine zoomed out. I mostly use the keyboard to navigate everywhere. First group is most used. Page Down key gets me to the next most used group. Press again to the next and so on. Then I "fine tune" with arrow keys. The hell with the mouse. My hands are almost always on the keyboard. Windows key is more important than ever. I really can fly around in 8.1.

I downloaded and use Bing Desktop. The background pic changes daily.





Change groups.



Then here's my "clean" desktop while I'm at it. It doesn't even have a Start Flag on the Taskbar.

Had to do a clean install of win 8 earlier in the week, and after alot of faffing this is my new silver/chrome/blue start screen and desktop!

i have to say that looks epic, can you please tell me what you used to get that effect with the icon tiles and how you achieved the placements? thanks

ok just re-vamped the start screen a little i really wasn't happy with it (still not 100%) gonna spend some time on it this week and will re-up it when i'm happy with it, but this is it so far...

I do not use start screen, so I post a desktop and browser + explorer, just to pride on their simplicity.
I prefer to have a clean desktop, since I hardly look at it, there is always something going on.
