Hi all,
I bought my Acer notebook last month - bundled with Windows 8.1 and a 30 day McAfee trial. All's been working perfectly until I uninstalled McAfee (followed by running their removal tool, rebooting etc. - everything's been done by the book) last night.
Now there ain't no internet on the notebook. My PC and work laptop both connect through the router without a hitch. Troubleshooting doesn't offer any solutions.
I've not yet been able to try a WiFi connection so don't know if that's working or not.
I'm not super-confident with this stuff, but I have checked out various Googly suggestions (network adapters etc.) and nothing's shouting "I'm the problem! Over here!"
I'm hearing all sorts of bad stuff about McAfee - and good things about Defender, which started up on the reboot after the McAfee 'purge'.
I'd really really appreciate some help or guidance here. Feeling a bit lost.
