Need help trying to install Windows 8 on SSD

Why don't you just copy the data. You can probably do that from the working SSD system. Else use a live Linux USB stick or CD. This is what I use:

Would that help me recover my browser settings and history as well? Like let's say I want to see the bookmarks that I had on Firefox...how can I do that?

FireFox I don't know because I don't use it. But the IE Favorites are in C:\Users\YourName. Settings no.

OK, it's all fixed now, it was simpler than expected lol. What I did was a fresh install of Windows on my HDD since I realized all the data were going to be saved on a folder called "windows.old", so from there I moved the entire folder to my SSD with all the data saved and that was it!
I do have to re-download all the programs I had and reinstall then again though.

As far as the bookmarks, settings, passwords, history, etc on Firefox...I was able to recover all of that, I just replace the folder with the one of windows.old that was under AppData-->Roaming--->Firefox...it was all saved in there, thanks god!
