If the only site your connected too is Microsoft it shouldn't be a big deal turning off your anti-virus. 3850 MB is 3.8 GB, you have 858 GB, you have enough space. Have you made recovery media for that PC? If not, now is the time to do it. Before you upgrade. The upgrade to Windows 8.1 has broken the factory recovery feature on some PC's. The recovery partition is still there but the link to it from the hot key gets broken. If that happens and you need to do a factory reset, you'll need the recovery media. Or, you'll be doing a clean install of 8.1 from the link I posted earlier. If you know how, making an image of your current setup would also be a good idea.
