Laptop keeps crashing. I have no idea why?

Well. I am glad that you finally got it sorted. Unfortunately, Memtest86+ does not always detect errors early enough, that's why I always recommend to let it run over night because the first test is sequentially test then the subsequent test includes a test which uses random test patterns, each pass these patterns will of course be different. Secondly some types of errors simply don't show up until the system has been running for a while or are very critical on a certain timing condition, are thermal in nature, or other such conditions.

Memtest86+ isn't 100% accurate - but it's the best test around. Read the documentation that comes with it for some ideas on further things to try.

When in doubt I also use Prime95 to stress the RAM - and it'll sometimes spit out errors when Memtest86+ doesn't.

FWIW - at work we run hardware diagnostics before anything else. It's a waste of time to try to fix software on a system that has hardware problems.
