You have a whole year to install it for free. And in case you're wondering it will be yours for the "life" of the machine, which basically means as long as your motherboard doesn't go belly up.

For windows 8.1 x64 you need two updates for gwx to work KB3035583 and KB2976978 also note that systems microsoft detects as unable to run Windows 10 will not see this icon or if your system is part of a domain it won't work either.If the icon is not showing go to the gwx logs it will tell you what the problem is .

hello,

rightclick "my computer" select management from the popmenu and in the window that opens choose logs then "application and services logs" => Microsoft => Windows => GWX-ins this is the gwx log.

You can download KB3035583 via this link windows 8.1 x64 only.

Thanks for the effort, but I don't understand the language.

Maybe you could use Google Translate & type in the words there & translate them into English.
