Solved Email notification sound not working

Windows mail on windows 8.1 will not play notifications, I setup a custom wav sound and set up notifications in windows mail and it still doesn't notify me.

Is Play notification sounds turned on and you are not in quite hours? If so you could look here - outlook had an issue with the wav format used - perhaps a similar issue... Outlook 2013 new mail notification sounds can't be changed

Yes its turned on, Im using Windows Mail not Outlook. I'll try a different format but the default notification never played either.

I tried setting it to the default sound and changed Desktop mail notification as well still nothing... This is a big issue for me I work from home and need to be able to hear when I receive new emails.

its a filetype issue, I finally got the toast notifications working and it must not like wav files Thanks for all your help!
