a lot of the complaints im seeing are due to the fact that we are all running a RC version of an operating system. one of the biggest things that comes with RC OS's are a lack of compatibility and a lack of development from 3rd parties. Therefore, bugs are going to exist, and there is a ton of switching to desktop mode due to the fact that we are all running mainly Win7 style programs. Once Win8 is officially launched, we will see metro apps for programs like Office, Chrome, anti-virus, and probably everything else you can think of, which will prevent the switching from metro to desktop so frequently (and yes I realize that's awesome to some people, but to others, metro is a ****hole).
I personally love metro and love the whole idea of Win8. Desktop mode provides a faster, more efficient Win7 which provides support for older programs that we all need to run, where I do see metro being the first step towards a new generation of operating systems. Now, I'm too young to have ever used a command line OS (Win 95 is my first computer experience), but the switch to a 95 UI was essential for the development of computers, and a switch to a metro UI is that next innovative step. If it works, who knows - it could flop majorly and MSoft or Apple come out with an entirely new OS UI. But I like the initiative Microsoft is making and I like the OS.
