Weird for sure, unfortunately no solution too.

Did you get any dump files from the last W8 install?
Post them if you did.

Can you confirm:
Running Windows 7 you have no problems?
W8 will not run stable?
If yes to both, considering all the testing you've done, leaves me thinking the W8 install files are corrupt.
Can you down load a new W8 installation ISO?
That is if you want to try it again.

This is for future reference.
Bad driver:
ASACPI.sys Aug 13 2004 - very old driver - Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility (a known BSOD maker in Win7 and Win8). Also a part of many Asus utilities - Uninstall all Asus utilities they are known to cause system instabilities.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the cause of your problems.

Confirmed windows 7 running flawless.
Confirmed windows 8 kept giving issues.
Strange that I did not instal any Asus software but that is what caused it? Is it possible that it was downloaded/installed automatically?
The only third party software was chrome and the classic start bar.

I resized the main partition of the c drive and after the reboot something strange happened.
I do have a mouse cursor but the screen is black. No metro, no regular desktop, nothing there. When I do control alt delete I get into task stuff and from there I can logon or log off users but all have the same result, a Black screen with only a mouse c cursor.

If you would have had a NVIDIA-GPU, then it could be the driver, as I had the same issue with my old / my wife's machine (P8P67 + 2600k + GTX570-OC).

The latest Driver (v314.07 WHQL) doesn't cause this problem anymore.

I downloaded the windows 8 pro as i purchased it online and the code is my e-mail which i cannot access. Stupid me of course never printed it out on paper just in case. So i do have the windows 8 pro disc but i am unable to install because i don't have access to the code. Sometimes i could just bang my head against a brick wall for being so "smart":(.

You're obviously typing from another computer. Is it possible to get your email from there? I have email addresses for live.com and gmail.com, both of which save my messages online. If your email addy is tied to your provider, is it possible to get your old messages from them?

Not a solution, but hopefully, you can find your key.

I did not use any Asus DVD. I downloaded the digital ISo from Microsoft and receivedthe code in the e mail. But that email is gone since the first crash as I don't use online mail services but provider email. I would Luke to dual boot with windows 7 & 8 to avoid a ton of work and frustration again. But I have to retrieve my code somehow first. I will than download the iso again.

Check with your e-mail provider, they may have some of your e-mails still on their server.

If you have a backup of W8, you can restore it then there are ways to find the Key, as long as it will remain stable long enough to get it.

I already tried several key finders, they all found the same key but when I use that key instal tells me it is incorrect????

I tested a few on my system and got a different key then the one I used, the above keyfinder gave the correct key.
It's a newer version, it might give the correct key for you.

I deleted my windows 8 when I went back to 7. So unfortunately I cannot retrieve the code. I think I will call Microsoft as they received my payment and all address details so they should be able to retrieve my code.

AppData files don't show up unless to tic the circle to show hidden files and folders in folder options.
Even though you download your e-mail to your computer a copy should remain on the e-mail provider. Whether it be MSN, yahoo, Gmail or from your ISP. Unless you chose not to retain a copy online.
I learned my lesson about codes back in 2003. Since then I e-mail all license numbers for software to myself at several e-mail accounts and to my wife's e-mail account. For safety like this situation.
