I am starting to get very much disenchanted with Windows 8. There are a few different reasons but the main one is that when I make a new folder and then rename it, there are times when it wants to change the name. Here is an example: In the My Documents folder, I keep all the files and folders that are important such as Word Documents, Excel Spread sheets, Pictures, etc. So when I want do make a backup which I do periodically, I simply backup everything in the My Documents folder. So this morning, I connected my external drive to make a backup. I created a new folder and named it Backup for Oct. 30. I then started to back up the files that are in the My Documents folder (not the folder itself just everything that is in it.) I did a copy/paste and as soon as I clicked on paste, it changed the name of the folder that I named Backup for Oct. 30 to My Documents. Thinking I may have made a mistake, I tried it again and the same thing happened. I now have two folders named My Documents both with the same files and folders. To me this is unacceptable. We should be able to name a folder whatever we choose as long as it has legal characters without Windows deciding to change it. Has anyone else experienced this?
