Solved Anybody else have a good working computer ?

No, I just set everything up, secretaries did the work, I was production manager for a automotive parts plant and chief maintenance for corporation, didn't exactly had time to screw with that stuff but was only one in this plant with computer experience and was impromptu named "That IT guy that likes to play with computers (Network Administrator)" and saved them 100 bucks on hour IT specialist to come and fix network and computers.
My computer, in my office, in the middle of factory was for controlling production machines and CAD/CAM work. Had it locked with 2 keys and a note to cleaning lady not to wash any part of it. One of them washed and scrubbed my keyboard in the sink once so I was not taking chances.

Really.... Washed out keyboard, that's a full fledged cleaning that undertook in the plant

Just an overzealous cleaning lady. 10 years before, when we were just starting company, my boss's wife run bookkeeping, her calculator conked out so she borrowed my from plant, of course it was greasy and dirty. Few minutes later she brought it back saying it does not work either. When I looked at it, it was sparkling clean, she said she had to wash it first, of course sink and detergent worked best for cleanliness but not for it's operation. One of my bosses, took computer home to "learn about it" except did not bring anything associated with it like monitor, keyboard and cables and complained it did not work there, "it must be something for factories only" he said. OK, it was long time ago but it's still funny. My first secretary took month to stop banging on keyboard like it was a mechanical typewriter but at that time keyboards were much stronger.

Even retired I enjoy working, have 2 workshops now, for wood and metal as well as computers.

How did this thread go from having a clean computer to being a thread for doing backups and the program to use.

@ OP David did you look at Event Viewer to see what that said about your computer ?

Getting to know how to read Event viewer logs especially where to find & what to find is really complicated..

I make a backup of all local drives & leave it to run in the background.
In the meantime I surf the web.
When the backup is done it lets me know.
I have it set to verify the integrity of the backup automatically.

Works good, without interfering with surf time.

I like Macrium.
Works good if you know how to use it.

All my backup images have worked flawlessly .

But, then again I read the readme files & played with it until I could use it properly.
Reading the instructions helps a lot.

A part of having a good working computer is to have a full backup of all your local drives.
There is NO need to "format" & make partitions.
Macrium does that for you.

Not doing stupid things to your computer is a very good idea.

I have a good working computer because I don't do stupid things to it.

Also, there is some concern expressed in this site about adding duplicate partitions on restoring... Are you experiencing any of that:
