Access denied to certain things, error 0cx0000022 and more

I am using windows 8.1

After installing bitdefender I have lost allot of access to random things, for example:

error 0cx0000022 when opening 3ds max
Cant change firewall settings (error code 0x8007042c)
Some applications dont have access to .dll files (So I cannot open them)

Please help!
If there is any more information I need to provide Im happy to do so.

Uninstalling bitdefender did not work.

I had a virus related to internet explorer, but i use chrome so it took a while to notice, I un-installed it without problem and everything worked fine but i did not want it to happen again so I got bitdefender. Then the problem started. Even after uninstalling bitdefender I have been blocked access to allot of files.

can you still run Internet Explorer?

have you tried safe mode? Safe mode with networking actually and then you come back here and look at solutions..

like running Eset with Internet Explorer in safe mode..

also try resetting Internet Explorer to default..

Since you actually have a virus, I would go to BleepingComputer and post you need to be cleaned..

they do have some info to read.. before joining and posting your virus infection..

I dont have a virus anymore, its only starting happening once I got bitdefender.

There is no way in hell you can be sure you are clean.. once infected, you have to treat it like a breach and usually you should Reformat to be honest..

of course it depends on how serious the virus was.. but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to tell how serious it was..

I would run Eset a few times and Malwarebytes, and have a look at Bleeping Computer - they have virus removal guides and you can see how they "clean" systems..

it will show you a lot about how computers are used as well and how viruses can attack etc..

did you run the uninstall BitDefender tool??

You should be running SFC /scan now in a command prompt and so much more..

but maybe go to BleepingComputer and you would know this..

and if you do go to Bleeping Computer website, you will notice going through the downloads, that they have all kinds of uninstall tools for programs..


I keep reiterating Bleeping Computer because you definitely said you have/had a virus.. and that puts your passwords at risk and info etc..

Its wasn't that bad of a virus just getting redirected on internet explorer and nothing else and I have uninstalled bitdefender.

so I got bitdefender. Then the problem started. Even after uninstalling bitdefender I have been blocked access to allot of files.

And BitDefender, especially after uninstalling, should not "block access" to files..

and if it somehow still does, that needs to be taken over to Bitdefender as a serious flaw and they will help you solve your computer issue..

but since i'm sure that's 90% not the case that bitdefender caused this, I think you have to go down the virusn removal route..

Take this with a grain of salt but:

are you serious?

you go to Bitdefender Antivirus Software and look at support and send an email!? Yes it can be a Pain in the.. but it does work.. and is the usual way you would think to tell a company a problem right?



then just pick product and put "compatibility" or such.. until you get here..




I'm sure they will answer you back telling you BitDefender sets things back and doesn't "block" files after it's uninstalled..

but if it truly does, then f$#% the BitDefender company as that is just wrong.

Well I went to make a support ticket/email but I installed the trial version, and of course you need the full version to make a support ticket/email. (You need the key that comes with the full version.)

save as many files as you can think off your computer to an external hard disk.. or usb etc..


then run Safe mode and are you running anything i've linked? posted? Eset? malwarebytes?

then you can start trying things like Refresh windows.. but read.. read... read...
