I have done that. I've stated it in my first post in this thread. It gives me a blank drop down menu with the yellow box gone, but when I press OK to apply it it still gives me the "You need an administrator's permission" prompt.

UPDATE: I shut down my laptop after a program crashed. I've recently turned it on again and when I open Windows Update it's back as if I never merged your reg file. Before the shutdown, the drop down menu was blank and the yellow box is gone. I'm trying to change the setting to Install updates...
