As to Works, I have no idea what version it was. I lost it when I got rid of my old computer. The "Word" version is 2007.

I have some Microsoft Works Database files I'd like to continue using, although MS Works has long disappeared. Does anyone know of a conversion technique/program to make these DB files usable with Microsoft Office. Seems like a step backward to not allow some kind of conversion for these...

Well, I don't know what happened, but in desperation, I just closed the installed program, and shut down/restarted the computer. Then, after restart, I opened the program with "run as administrator." I OKd the update, and....it TOOK! Still have some bugs to work on with the site support...

I did find a "run as administrator" option on the setup file, clicked on it, and the installation started. When it finished, it asked to check for updates. I allowed it, but got the same message. "RT patch error, cannot download update." Still no luck.:(

I only have the one account. At the initial setup, it opened with my Microsoft Account, and I've stuck with that ever since. I have no other account on this new PC.
