Hey, I tried doing that and there are no crashes or BSOD, but it's still Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. Could it just be a hardware failure, or do you have more things to give a try on?
No worries!
Which option in Device Manager is that? On graphics cards there are just the two ones I mentioned before, and enabling either one of them just makes Windows recognize it as basic display adapted (but I didn't restart the PC after that, though, if that affects it). Enabling both of...
Are there any possible solutions for this problem, or is it a problem with the hardware? I'd preferably use the dedicated GPU instead of integrates (as you may expect).
I disabled AMD Radeon HD 7660G + HD 7670M Dual Graphics using safe mode (as normal mode won't work). Now I have a yellow exclamation mark next to the Radeon HD 7670M, and Windows recognizes my GPU as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". What should I attempt now?
EDIT: Also tried disabling the HD...
That's one of the first thing I've given a try on - I disabled the GPU there, and it worked but then Windows detected the device again and the BSOD occured again. Did you mean that, or something else?
I removed the drivers in safe mode, and re-installed them using the installer provided by HP, and the BSOD happened again. There are again two GPUs in Device Manager, AMD Radeon HD 7670M and AMD Radeon HD 7660G + HD 7670M Dual Graphics, so the installation was successful.
Haha, it's okay, no worries! :)
Which of the two graphics drivers should I be installing? Do I just install them by running the .exe file, or can it be installed the same way the AMD ones?
Access Denied
I downloaded the drivers from AMD and installed them using the method above (Device Manager), should I now instead use the AMD Catalyst program to install them?
How the heck could drivers suddenly become this big of a problem?
Managed to remove the drivers using safe mode. After PC booted to its normal state, everything worked fine as nothing has ever happened. I went into Device Manager and there were two different GPUs, one with the normal icon and an another one with a yellow warning triangle. I installed the...
Thanks a lot! I've always thought that using AMD Catalyst is the best way to install drivers. This can be done in safe mode by following the link you gave me, right?
Can you help me a bit with that? I've tried checking for driver updates using the program provided by AMD, but it doesn't recognize my graphics card when using safe mode (which is currently the only one I am able to use that now).
I just removed the 2GB stick, leaving the 4GB stick on. I got into the desktop, but then BSOD happened again.
EDIT: After the last BSOD, the computer now gives BSOD after the loading screen with HP logo in it, it no longer loads into the desktop.
