At last the voice of reason.

It is interesting that a good proportion of metro lovers are so insecure they appear desperate to get others approval.

Some of them also seem unable to see or understand anything that does does not confirm their own prejudices.

It might be the other way round.

Perhaps those are the kind of people who tend to love metro.

[ Note the word tend - that does necessarily not mean everybody who likes metro.]

Metro lover are very rare, you find them only in forum like here. On other more general forums 99% of peoples hate Windows 8.

Back in the mists of time, my friend Kat posted that she could get some games to play better on 8 than on 7, while others wouldn't play at all. In addition, some of the games that would play on 8 were older games.

Kat, I've got the same situation. I triple-boot with my 32-bit XP, 7, and 8. I just cannot get some games to play on 8, while others actually play better on 8 than on 7. When the full version comes out, I'll do a clean install over my Consumer version of 8.

Yes well said Colonel Travis, Unfortunately, its likely to be ignored by the very people that should take heed of its message. Sometimes I have to wonder if one or two of them aren't being paid by Microsoft to try and spin Metro into the greatest thing since sliced bread. But that couldn't be, could it?

Okay fellas you win I hate Metro, you've won me over, I want to live in the past too. Now that I'm like you, tell me what we are going to do. I'll listen and follow, what have you got planned.
I was under the impression that this version, the Release Preview was set in stone, that's why I said you're fighting an uphill battle, maybe I was wrong.

No blow it I'm going to stay in the now and embrace Metro and hope it works for Microsoft, I just read the following.

""Tablets are one of the most rapidly adopted consumer technologies in history and are poised to fundamentally disrupt the way people engage with the digital world both on-the-go and perhaps most notably, in the home," Mark Donovan, ComScore's senior vice president of mobile, said in a statement announcing the findings. "It's not surprising to see that once consumers get their hands on their first tablet, they are using them for any number of media habits including TV viewing."

    Lol,

    Col was joking of course.

That is the kind of support MS would rather do without - no way they would be behind it.

    To my friend SIW2:

No, back in the mists of time (two days ago) Kat discussed why she wanted to keep both 7 and 8, and my reasons are similar.

The context was that some people will only use Metro and get rid of 7, while others will use the desktop and not buy 8. Kat and I are hardy adventurers who intend to use both Metro and the desktop.

Windows 8... to me, it is the best os since xp. i have seen a TON of videos about "windows 8 sucks" and I disagree. There is a poll so you can vote. i had a bad experience with 7, because I bought a laptop with starter on it, so I could BARELY do anything.

Hi there This is just a note to people who think it's too much hassle to backup their systems. Just recently I needed to swap from a SAMSUNG 830 128 GB SSD to the newer 840 250 GB SSD on my laptop. Plugging the new SSD into a USB2 (not even USB 3) slot I restored a previous system image that...
