Your sentence "Party like it's 1995" tells you _do_ see his choise as oldfashion. Because you like Metro better does not means, that everybody likes it better, or works better with it.

Metro should be an Addon for peoples who want to use it not a shores, I serve business since 30 years, I will say 95% of my customers donít like to change their habits, Windows 8 will be a big pill for them to swallow, they will not wants to use key shortcut, Windows should be more intuitive, everything is hide in 8, even the shut down button.

It's why it's a big epic fail, and this is not winning itís the topic of this tread.
So you're basically saying we should have the same OS over and over again? Why should those people update in the first place?

It is objectively a system we've been on for 17 years, designed initially when 640x480 was a common resolution to have.

I didn't read much of the comments here, really I only read the first page. But, I will say that after using Windows 8 for a few days I'm really liking it, it is different but once you figure things out it actually works quite nice. And I use a keyboard/mouse, no touch here. I like it that when I first boot up I see the Metro UI that I customized. I took out all the apps/programs I wasn't going to use and replaced them with all of my programs. If I don't feel like using the desktop I have all my programs right there, they also load quite fast.

And I also have shortcuts placed on my traditional Desktop incase I wanna use that instead. I also like that you can quickly switch between your programs by moving your mouse up the left side of the screen and clicking. I find the Metro to be quite faster then the traditional Desktop, but like I said, that's just my opinion.

Because their PC becomes obsolete with time, where can you purchase a Windows XP today? They are forced to change. Anyway just wait to see the results of the sales, we will know who is right and wrong. I'm still installing Windows XP in new Dell pcs, business purchases, if I say no they gone ask someone else.

Nope, no one is suggesting that. What is important is that people have a choice to determine what works best for them. The majority of Window's users still use XP. That doesn't make them old fashioned as they are using an operating system which they feel meets their day to day needs. MS has clearly failed to get across to them the benefits of Vista and Win7. But then again, maybe there are no benefits to them.

I'm still using Office 2003 - there are no benefits to me to switch to a later version so I hold on to my $$$'s. Same goes with Windows. I use whatever version I feel best meets my day to day requirements - it is that simple.

That's right, even if you don't think it's a good idea, might as well do it. If you don't, most will just go to someone who will and you will lose their business.

And it's not a good time too loose business... a lot of peoples loose their job. Microsoft seems to now understand it, customers is the kind, you have to serve them and give what they wants, because at the end it's them who pay.

Exactly, if you have the business, why turn it away? You're not the one going to be living with Windows XP.

Been using Windows 8 and I do agree, I actually like 8 and think it's a good yet overly complex OS. The reason why it'll be a huge flop is because Businesses AND Individuals will feel alienated by it and not want to upgrade, a lot like Vista really, I've also noticed that their are a lot of problems with things such as legacy apps and drivers which will scare people away to no end. As much as Microsoft may want to sell a bunch of tablets, that market is insanely small compared to Desktop and Laptop users. People who use tablets are going to prefer an iPad or even an Android tablet because their more worried about being stylish (Have we learned nothing from the Zune?) and even more so, simply don't care about the benefits of a more complex OS like Windows. It MAY end up being a hit but I really, really doubt it.

In the present economy, business owners try to survive, they don't need new fancy OS and they don't want spent time and money training their employees..
