The comment "If youíre using Metro apps, there is no clock" clearly shows he's not used Windows 8 for a month. Especially considering he's ranted about the Charms bar which when accessed ALWAYS displays the obvious clock. The clock may not be always displayed like the desktop but it is easily accessible in Metro. There are also other false rants in this article.

Wow, what a surprise, Acer complaining again?

"Acer Inc., Quanta Computer Inc. and Compal Electronics Inc., three major PC
makers, have all lost hope in Windows 8 being the savior of PC sales for the
second half of fiscal year 2012."

Major PC makers? Other than Acer I've never heard of the others. A little less whining and a lot more doing because the REAL major PC makers (HP, Dell, IBM etc) are finalizing products.

Well, I could wear a watch, or look at my cell phone, or look up www.whattimeisit.com....but who wants to do that. Not having a visible clock at all times is a PITA, especially in a business environment where time management and having to be ready for meetings is a requirement.

First of all in a business environment users will be spending very little time with Metro so they'll see their clocks on the desktop. Of course there are those users that like to hide their task bar so the motion to see the clock is basically the same. Also, MANY users use their cell phones to look at the time even though they are wearing a watch. Then some of us stopped wearing a watch years ago and find our time management has improved, yea sounds odd but you'd be surprised.

Regardless, the main point I was making was he said that Metro had NO clock, therefore he's barely used Windows 8 making the whole article one big rant. I don't care if he doesn't like Windows 8 but don't post an article with false information then tell users not to bother with the OS. Perhaps he's just looking for hits to his site and Windows 8 bashing is a hot topic.

You got that right, because Metro isn't included in XP, Vista or 7...or their iPad's < - Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

I'm unsure if I really ever wore a watch since I got out of college. It's been quite a long time.

Yeah, seems like lots are ranting about the OS. Right or wrong, good of bad, it's definitely struck a nerve with lots of people.

When you walk into any business generally you wouldn't expect to find a clock gadget on the office machine's desktop! You can rule that one out. And yes many opt to check the autohide option for the taskbar.

As far as wearing a watch that's a personal not corporate decision people make on their own and not any commercial or privatized requirement. In fact companies award high priced watches to employees who perform well showing that to be in error!

The Metro isn't just the Start screen and neither would you expect to see a clock on the Start orb in any previous version which would be an interesting OS tweak! The clock, time, and date have always been an item in the System notification area with the option to hide simply to keep things like time and date stamps on things going. Businesses often have wall clocks around somewhere to start with.

Yeah. I'm going to buy W8 because like in all previous releases, there is something that sucks. Excellent logic, Robert. Are you programmer by any chance?

I did not mean it in that way, I said that people say something sucks, when in fact it's actually good. And yes, I am a programmer.

While that is always true. The /meaningful/ content is in how MANY people are saying it sucks. When 50% of your customers say your new product sucks, that's significant.

In comparison, XP, 7 and even the Vista "Whiners" were somewhat minor in number compared to the 8 case.

Windows 8 is good... for tablets and phones (We assume and hope) and barely functional desktop usage (If Metro is all you ever need from a desktop, you don't need a desktop). It is a rather horrific interface for anyone that wants to customise their computer to their own working needs and aesthetic desires and or has serious work to do on it.

Fseal? Your not going to upgrade to Windows 8 are you? You strike me as one of those Windows XP like people that stayed till XP was put to death by Microsoft.
