I also had that issue. Now it works, tested with the built-in shut down button, but since I use a custom ShutDown tile made of a *.bat file it doesn't work.
Is the default built-in shut down not really shutdown then?
Pressing the power button hidden in the charms to the right doesn't do:
but it seems to do:Code:Shutdown -s -f -t 00
So then, if everything still runs alright, I'll use the hybrid *.bat command from my tiles.Code:Shutdown -s -f -t 00 -hybrid
You're obviously more technically minded than myself. I'll take you word for it..LOL
I don't dualboot but the issue can be annoying sometimes: not all hybrid shutdowns are a "success" mostly after you've updated drivers, a restart is recommended to clean things up and in order to create a new hybrid boot file on the next shutdown. Once I've encountered the hybernation instead of the shutdown just by using the built-in power button...
If it works, we're happy.
Question, when 8,1 final is out if you have a microsoft office program will you loose it after installing 8.1 and any of ones regular programs, not the ones from the metro store?
No you shouldn't lose anything. Office continued to work for me. Any Apps that need to update for 8.1 will most likely have already done so by then.
The only two that don't work for me are Cisco AnyTime Connect and VirtualBox (if you install bridged networking). Both cause BSOD on restart from sleep.
i install a msdn win8.1 early release over my win8 and lost my windows mail setup and everything in it ,as far as i know you will have to reinstall all 3rd party apps/programs
