I really don't understand what the hell Microsoft is doing here. You make Windows 8, which is made for touch screen computers, and then you go ahead and make Windows RT, which is going to be made for tablets and phones. I understand Windows RT is a much slim down version of Windows 8. From many reviews I've read, it's actually pretty amazing for tablets and phones. Why wasn't Windows RT released first and the Windows 8? It would have saved everyone so many headaches. And if you were going to make Windows RT for phones and tablets, then why was the Start Menu removed? Windows 8 has so many unneeded changes.
Everything in our life has taught us that window menus are located in the bottom left corner. Windows 8, lets change that put it on the left. Oh and lets call them charms now too. Lets also hide the shut down button while were at it. It literally took me 20 minutes trying to figure out how to shut down my freaking computer.
Now the whole idea that Microsoft was pushing hardware specs to manufacturers and were promised they would include touch screen hardware and labtops is almost laughable. Here we are in a bad economy, globally, and you want manufacturers to change their methods of making money in this tablet phenomenon? They wanted manufactures to slap expensive hardware onto labtops and computers now. Not tablets, but computers. This makes absolutely no sense. Windows should have proven Windows RT was the next best thing first by releasing tablets and phones in this kind of market. Only then would manufactures slowly decide to hop over.
How can anyone not see that if you buy a new computer now, it will probably last the common user for over 10 years. People don't need to buy computers if they're old ones are still working. Especially if you're still rocking the 775 socket. Hense why tablets are so hot right now, because nobody has them. And lets be honest, the 1st and 2nd generation tablets and smart phones were and are garbage. Almost as bad as the Intel Atom processor netbooks. It will take time for technology to catch up for the tablets and phones. But when it does, you can expect that there will be a stand still like computers and labtops like there is now. Then someone will have to invent the next new thing. Maybe screens built into glasses or something.
The whole idea of Windows 8 not having a least an update to enable the start menu without 3rd party software is so bizarre to me it's really mind blowing. Microsoft is letting 3rd party companies make money off something they invented, the start menu. How is this even possible to pass up? Any computer idiot can tell you this is a bad idea. Especially when Microsoft is hurting for Apps so much, why not make it an add-on App? What a stupid stupid mistake.
And lastly, what was the last thing Microsoft innovated since they're major breakup? NOTHING! They're famous for stealing other peoples ideas and they're notorious for catching up to everyone elses. They are always late to the game. Microsoft stole their code from Apple. And when Apple almost went under, Microsoft held 90% of the computer users in the world. Microsoft ended up giving money to Apple to help bail them out, A COMPETITOR! Since Microsoft's big breakup, they have declined in users every single year. From Linux to Apple to Google to Mozilla to etc... The list goes on. This company is so doomed it's not even funny.
