Windows 8.1 Update 1 is a Mandatory Update for Future Security Update Offerings

Microsoft has now gone ahead and released the KB Article for Windows 8.1 Update 1 ahead of the April 8, 2014 public availability.

However, there's one very important piece of content in the KB Article that really needs its own special highlight. In the Introduction section it reads:

Important All future security and nonsecurity updates for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 require this update to be installed. We recommend that you install this update on your Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2-based computer in order to receive continued future updates.

Not really. Kind of off topic. It depends.
When someone says "Microsoft have" I almost immediately go with Alt-F4.

Proofreading is a skill the follows a set of defined rules.
To successfully publish a document, it is usually reviewed by professionals that understand proper language.
Otherwise, it is just slang. The use of slang for a technical presentation is telling.

On topic, security updates are not necessarily needed in real time but if they make changes to the kernel,
then there is probably an install sequence that is important.

I like English. Can't say I love it. Wish I could be a fluent French speaker.
My ancestors are from France but I was born in New England.
It's just a personal irritation. I was trained to read and write using vocabulary rules that are familiar.

This forum is global and often times I have difficulty with other forms.
It's like nails on a chalkboard to me.
