ATT is not on my favorites list. I upgraded a basic phone without data for 15$ a month to my 'smart' windows phone. The guy said at the very least, they 'must' charge me an extra 20$, and I am forced to accept a data plan. I bought the phone from windows store, not them. My only mistake was buying an ATT phone...

There were like 2 plans I could choose from, which is not customer-friendly. They have gotten so big that they care more about money than people-pleasing, which makes me want to switch carriers. This update dilemma does not improve their stance in my mind.

I've never liked att for their RIDICULOUS monthly rates that literally are the modern definition of highway robbery. I've never liked them for that, the idiotic delays in updates EXCEPT for ios, and the recent screw up of the Lumia 1520 where they ripped out the wireless charger (as it's a competing standard than theirs) and only 16 gigs of on board storage. It's nice that they were the only initial adopters of Windows Phone, but they've become SUCH a hindrance to the adoption of the platform as even when Verizon released a couple of Lumia variants, they ended up becoming the largest carrier for Windows Phone. att's service is a bit less stellar than Verizon, their customer service sucks, their rates are gouging, and they have no oomph for Windows Phone.

Which is why I went to the extent of installing a French ROM of Windows Phone to move the last bit of att's horrid vestiges on my phone. I have mine used as a prepaid smartphone, pay 45 dollars a month for pretty much unlimited everything (except data obviously), and uses att's towers without att's cost. I just thought it was so stupid that even though I'm not an att customer, I was getting screwed over by them with updates...

I'm glad windows is currently 'struggling' to compete in phone, tablet, and computer markets. The biggest improvements come when companies attempt to attract/keep more people. Makes them more 'competitive' and viable. We're getting free windows 8.1 (and possibly 9.x) upgrades because of this, and more.

My Nokia Lumia is only the 520, which is the entry level one although it has some marvellous features. My carrier is Vodafone, I'm in the UK so don't know what they would block.

Well I should have my Samsung any day know and I am excited, I am sure this will be a good phone but I am hoping Nokia comes to Sprint/Ting in the future.

I thought of getting a new Windows phone, when my contract runs out in March, but until the dust settles on Windows 8/8.1? phones I will stick with Android. The main reason, I/you get really used to a system and then along comes another, (mobiles I mean). Take Windows 8/8.1, now apparently Windows 9, for PC's is on the horizon. I just hope migrating to win 9 will be a free upgrade.

Do they have that for iOS? Only 5 bucks? I'll get it, amazing - But it looks like it uses the phone camera, is that right? I would have to get an attachment like in the Vid...

After using an iPhone for 4 years, I don't think I'll ever get anything else, but ya never know. If I had the money I would just up and buy a Windows 8 phone. It's the only other OS I would consider, I had a Droid tablet was was nonplussed by Droid 4.1 jellybean, which I was stuck with. But Ive seen a few Galaxies with Droid 4.4, and I played with it and liked it. I don't like Droid cos it acts too much like a Computer OS, and I was very unimpressed with the "Capacative Touch"- I would have to poke at my screen to get it to respond. My iPad Mini is butter, it opens an app by breathing on it.

So I got my Samsung S Neo yesterday and the quality of the phone and the Windows 8 Phone operating system have been very impressive. Glad I made the switch to the Windows Phone platform and thanks to everyone for there inputs.

A quick question I have is there a way to see the app that are running? Like the only thing I have found annoying is lets say I am in one app and then someone sends me a message on skype and I click on it to see the message. Is there a way without hitting home and then clicking the app again to just hit a button or swipe to see all running apps to quickly resume?

I will let you know in a month, I will have 4 of them to demo at the festival I am doing on March 15, It will give me a chance to see how nice or not they work

Push and hold the back button. The home screen and any open tabs will zoom back. Scroll to the tab/screen you desire.

Hit the X to close out any unwanted tabs/screens.

Tabs in immersive Modern/Metro IE are much the same.

Tabs are an important part of the UI and navigation. A real time saver. Don't know much about iStuff, but it sure has it over on Andavoid.
