I really enjoy Windows 8

Got 242 entries in god mode on Win 8.1

It's all text, no icons and it's all in one place, much easier than to scroll few pages.

Once I banished Metro/Modern, Win 8 is just fine and it strikes me as very much like Win 7. The lack of a Start button doesn't even bug me at this point.

/still flirt with Linux, via the KDE desktop.

Win 8 de-Modernized is pretty much my go-to at this point, but I still flirt with Linux and the KDE desktop environment.
242 is a lot more than I have. But I guess if you organize them in subfolders of your main desktop folder, then they are manageable. But once you have that desktop folder, I would use it for a toolbar. Then they are accessible from anywhere - no need to go back to the desktop.

not wanting to start an argument so don't take this the wrong way ,there is a small icon at the start of each line of text .

my point was that people want to find things quick and a list of 242 items is a lot ,just saying

not sure how many are in the list it created on mine and iam not about to count them

That small icon is for the whole group, may help a bit with choosing type of setting. I hate having to remember everything, would rather read. Being all under proper headers makes it fast enough to find things in it.
