How do I change the login screen image? (NOT lock screen)

This is an important screen, so I would imagine MS didn't allow changes to it other than an account picture, sign in picture, or change the color and that is all.

Lock screens can be changed by means of group policy or turning on the picture slide show.

I did a bit of research and the best, (guess), answer I can come up with is the fact that there are several resources missing from several .dll's and .wim files in Windows 8/8.1, especially the setup and boot configuration files.
Perhaps this has to do with the speculation that, because of the immersive properties of the Logon page, the background is unable to host a graphics image, but I'm not sure, I only read that somewhere. And, maybe MS just wants it that way!
I'm sure someone with the know-how and the time could figure out how to import or create and modify the appropriate files but, for me, it's such a minor issue, I don't think I want to delve into it.
The color change is sufficient for me. :)

So I disabled the lock screen as it's just another unnecessary click to login, but what I want to be able to do is customise the background image of the login/ctrl+alt+del screen. I know you can change the "accent" colour but I don't want to use a solid colour. How do I go about this?

I haven't found a way to change anything on the login screen except the color. However, signing in with a picture password seems to sort of do this...haven't tried it tho - scared it will screw up my login. I know it's not wallpaper, but it's at least a little more than solid color.
