DOS Command Line

Renaming files

If all I need is a quick and dirty fix and I'm happy with filenames like "batman" followed by a sequential file number such as "001" then I use Photoshop Elements Seven.

It has a multiple file utility that will read any imasge file and change the filenames to your choice. Unfortunately, there is almost always SOME info in the filename that I want to keep and so it's a matter of striking a happy medium.

Be careful installing ReNamer though as it tries to foist off 3 other crapware programs on you during the install. As long as you pay attention you can avoid them easily.

Thanks for the heads up, ztruker.

No matter how many bits of software I download, I am still caught out on occasions by failing to deselect crappy toolbars, new home pages and so on.

Merlin
It's mostly dependent on where you download programs. Just downloaded it again from their site and there were no "extras" with it.

Belated happy birthday, wynona.

Seeing as how I didn't have an invitation to your party, I didn't feel obliged to buy you a gift.

Just a little hint for next year.

Merlin

Oohhhhh! You're invited and my wish list is at Microsoft. At the top is the new Surface Pro. :dinesh:
