Solved Unable to use built-in ASUS recovery partition

Glad I could help. I was checking if upgrading to Windows 10 would cause similar issues to recovery partitions, and I found this official Asus workaround for Windows 8 users. Best wishes to you too. Peace and good

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

I'm using the "original" Microsoft URL, and at start up I get three occurrences of this error at the moment. Anyone else is experiencing the problem right now? Is this URL still not working on your systems?

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

You're right, most users never check Event Logs. And rarely restart their systems either (probably only after performing important updates/installations), while it would be good practice to restart every now and then (system refreshes and works more efficiently). Particularly since Windows 8...

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

Hey Saammy, I have a couple questions for you (or any other experienced user willing to help). Before changing the registry I made a backup copy for the key with the non working url. Supposing Microsoft should revert to the old domain in the future, can I just import the saved key into the...

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

I take it back. After doing as you suggested, with the old url in place the error is still there. Only the new url really works. Thank you

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

Hey Saammy, I think I made an interesting/strange discovery. If you backup the original registry key and, after having applied the url change and restarted as you wisely suggested, put the old key back in place, and restart system again, then there will be no errors in the event viewer as well...

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

Thank you very much! I have one more question. If I leave everything as is, will I experience any problems or negative consequences (particularly while updating my system), apart from the obvious red marks and error messages in event viewer? Can anyone please answer this? Thanks

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

Your problem is not really solved, you are just preventing Windows from automatically installing drivers. Windows is not checking for driver software anymore and therefore you won't receive error alerts in the event viewer. But the issue is still there, as "normally" Windows is supposed to do...

Continues Errors at startup "Metadata staging failed"

This is more of a temporary workaround than real solution. I would like my system and drivers to update normally. Correct me if I'm wrong, but disabling devices check is not recommended. I am under the impression Windows Update is not operating as it should. Also, being new here I don't get why...
