For some reason, Windows refuses to let any program (utorrent, iexplore, firefox...) connect to animetorrents.me (reporting that it cannot locate the server in Firefox and telling the me machine actively refused the connection in uTorrent)
I can access the site through a proxy (eg: by going to proxy.org), confirming the site is up. I have ruled out a DNS issue by doing this and also trying different DNS servers. I thought my ISP (Cox Communications) might have been blocking the site, but the issue is not resolved when using a VPN for all traffic. I disabled HOSTS, so it's not blocked there. I used to be able to access the site, but a restore point to several weeks ago (when I could access the site) also failed to restore access. I can access the site on my Android device on the same network (also via WIFI), and disabling the firewall (Comodo) also did not restore access.
So I seem to have ruled out:
HOSTS,
the firewall,
the ISP,
anything on the router,
the DNS server
I'm out of ideas. What else could cause such a problem?
