Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software...

It seems to need the bcdboot command to work in EFI mode. It's a pain!

Link to Hiren's?

I don't see the link to Hiren's Boot CD. Also, is Mini-XP a second file that I should burn to CD?

If your backup was written to the C drive, it may still be there, you can use Hiren's Boot CD and Mini-XP to move it to another hard drive. Link is below, burn it and boot to it and get into Mini-XP, then you can browse your C drive and find the backup. Then you can re-create your restore disk with the right backup file.

If you have Windows 8 Pro, you NEED a Windows 8 Pro install disk. I don't care what they say, they are wrong, Call them back, cancel the transaction ASAP, because a non-pro disk will not help you unless all you use is the Command Prompt from it.

as far as those MS creeps are concerned, companies are not paying fair recently. In September I was given a 10 dollar discount on my Cable bill, it was there in black and white.

So this month they wanted to charge me for the "10 dollars I didn't pay" which was listed AS a discount in my September Online Bill, and this month, that bill has been edited leaving out the discount. So I called them and yelled at them for an hour and they finally agreed to pay half of it. SO whatever they tell you on the phone, they are LYING, if you upgraded to Pro, you upgraded to Pro, and you would have an email or something that states this, you need to find that and shove that in their faces.

I've bought from MS directly before, they always send an Email of the transaction, even if it was a free offer. I've saved all of these. Usually it's an email with the Product Key in it.

Is this it? I am really really nervous that I am going to screw something up, void my warranty and/or lose my data
