Solved Windows 8 RP crashes when entering the password upon resume from sleep

I'm running Windows 8 8400 on a Lenovo s205

The origin of the issue:
I messed up a little my MBR by removing the dual-boot system incorrectly, and had to repair it using a USB drive with Windows 8(the automatic repair did the trick). Immediately after the repair, the problem started.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Close the lid,
2. Open the lid,
3. Wait for the logon screen to appear,
4. Enter the correct password.

What happens:
Laptop reboots by itself.
After the reboot, I'm able to enter the password and log in successfully.

How reproducible:
5/5

Additional details:
*After the repair, Windows 8 SLIC(I mean the spinning dots on resume) was replaced by the old progress bar with the word "Resuming".
*No dumps get generated
*The settings upon closing the lid are: "Hibernate", whether on battery or using charger.
*Event viewer just contains an error that the last shutdown was incorrect.

Things that I haven't tried:
1. Running sfc /scannow (already done after starting topic; did not find anything)
2. Running a full check disk
3. Trying the safe mode
4. Trying the clean boot

I'm not that bothered by this problem, and I don't really want to reinstall Windows - just curious what it might be.

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    Windows 8.8400
    System Manufacturer/Model
    Lenovo s205
    CPU
    AMD E-300
Looks like this was fixed by moving the pagefile to a separate partition. No reboot in 4 resumes, and before - this was 100% reproducible.

Nope, it crashed again.

Upgrade to W8 Pro with wiping all HDDs solved the problem :) Might be a little overkill, but I didn't actually need any stuff from this laptop
