My computer starts every 2 hours, and i have not enough time to download Windows 8 Pro between every restart, although i have a product key i cant download windows.

HELP!!!!

If you have the product key, you can use the iso someone else has already downloaded.

Otherwise, you may have to resort to google.

MS doesn't appear to have uploaded anything to help those who are stuck.

I assume you have another o/s you can install - just using the 30 day trial - win 7, or Vista.

You could install one of those and try downloading from there.

You can use a Linux Live CD: Mint or Knoppix or Ubuntu are some examples. (shhh, it wasn't me)
It's the best choice if you have RP as your only OS (that was a bad move).

This will probably sound odd on a Windows forum but with the live cd's, you boot and go to MS to download your iso because you'll have unlimited time.

You'll loose all your programs with a clean install of Win8 (after you have the iso) but it's the only way, in case an upgrade is unavailable over the expired Win8 RP.

I assume you have another o/s you can install - just using the 30 day trial - win 7, or Vista.

You could install one of those and try downloading from there.

In that case is easy because you can do the upgrade online even without ISO I guess.

Good luck

Hi there
I thought Ms downloads had a download manager where you could resume an interrupted download -- obviously not it seems.

However presumably you must have HAD an OS in the first place on some sort of computer to have downloaded the W8 Preview drom somewhere. - or please explain to me how you did the original download.

Just re-install that OS - even if it's Windows XP to download your ISO. Just install the base OS - don't worry about drivers or anything - all you want is to have a working copy of IE so you can download the new ISO.

You won't have to activate it (Your old OS I'm referring to here) -- in the worst case you'll get a nag screen saying you have to activate within 3 days -- but if your download takes 3 days I'd change your ISP. !!!

Cheers
jimbo

Not for a while - the new download manager doesn't seem to like it (but I tend to download anything large direct from the KB article if I can, so IE9/10's DM takes care of it).
